For some time I’ve considered the possibility of LASIK surgery but just thought of eyes and surgery in the same sentence made me nervous. Like most people, I rely on my eyes to do so many things. Being an artist, I rely on my eyes for the inspiration and the execution of my work. In art school there was a saying that was often used, “the eye of the artist does more work than his hands”.

Thank you for being patient with me and explaining all of my options, I know each person’s eyes are unique and present special challenges. I appreciate your ability to deal with my particular condition. Your staff treats me like I’m a visitor at a relaxing day spa and that makes the experience very low stress. I couldn’t have picked a better place to have LASIK surgery than with Dr. Brian Davis and his Davis Vision Center. As you know, my body is a temple and I don’t let just anybody near it, mainly because I’m a big baby who is afraid of pain. Dr. Davis and his staff answered all of my questions and walked me through the procedure, complete with every detail I needed to know following surgery. I am a recently retired 56 year old Wyoming man, who has had glasses and contacts the vast majority of my life. I was seeking to improve my vision with LASIK surgery.

I had recently heard good things about the Davis Vision Center in South Jordan, Utah and decided to make that my first stop.

I was very pleased to find that the staff there at Davis Vision was top notch and very professional, but still very personable at the same time.

They fit my wife and me into their already busy schedules that day to saveus another long drivefrom Wyoming. The tests they performed that day gavesome unexpected results. I was diagnosed with cataracts that were impairing my vision to the point that I could no longer see 20/20 with my right eye and that no change of corrective lens prescription lens with bifocal or contacts and reading glasses for a lot of years already. I thought the worst was coming. Instead, Dr. Brian Davis informed me that I could have the cataracts removed and have the installation of a new lens called “Crystalens”. Crystalens gave me the hope of seeing both far and near without the aid of glasses or contact lenses.

I opted to try these state of the art lenses hoping to see better than I had ever seen in my life. After replacing my deteriorated natural lens with the “Crystalens”, the option of having LASIK surgery to improve vision if needed was again a possibility.

I had surgery on my left eye 2 weeks ago and surgery on my right eye 1 week ago. I am already seeing better than I can ever remember seeing. I am reading my computer screen without corrective lenses as I write this letter. I am 20/20 for distance and 20/16 up close. Dr. Davis reminds me that my eyes are still adjusting but I have had phenomenal results already and only expect them to get better. I exercise my eyes for distance and close in vision and I am feeling like a kid again.
