If your New Year resolutions include living a healthier lifestyle make sure you include your eye health on the list.   Courtesy of the American Academy of Ophthalmology here are 5 easy things you can do to keep your eyes happy and healthy this year.
1. Don’t shower or swim in Contact Lenses

Driving in Utah during the winter months can be treacherous and unpredictable.  At Davis Vision we want you to be safe and enjoy the holidays.  Here is a list of winter driving tips to remind you to be safe and have a fun holiday season.

The snow is falling and that means the holiday season is right around the corner.  Family, food, decorating, and shopping are a few of the many things that make this time of year exciting and VERY busy.  This is the perfect opportunity to take some time before the holiday craziness begins and do something for yourself, something that is sure to make the holidays a little easier.  Of course we are talking about LASIK vision correction.

School and Vision

A recent report shows that more than 10 million children (one in four) in the United States will go back to school this fall with an undetected vision problem. Despite this disturbing figure, a survey released by the Vision Council of America (VCA) found that only 6% of parents recognize that vision problems can lead to difficulties in school.  Much of what children learn in school is visual so it is imperative that a yearly eye exam is performed by a qualified physician.

June is Cataract Awareness Month

With June being Cataract Awareness Month Davis Vision Center has been promoting patient education about the signs of cataracts and how they can prevent them.
While Davis Vision Center is one of the leading providers of LASIK surgery in Utah, we also specialize in cataract surgery for patients with cloudy or dark vision. We emphasize to patients that prevention for cataracts is important, and knowing the signs and symptoms of cataracts will help them enjoy better vision.

Vision Events Launched; Holds First Annual 5k Fun Run

Dr. Davis is proud to announce the start of Vision Events! This charity was started earlier this year by Dr. Davis and his brother as a way to give back to the community. One has a daughter with a retinal degenerative disease so this hits close to home. Both brothers have seen vision blinding diseases and have agonized over their devastating effects. Together they have participated in countless charitable sporting events over the years -- cycling, running, and swimming. Vision Events was created to combine their passion for sports with a cause dear to their hearts!
